Sonder

Sonder has various locations and some good ‘apartment style’ rooms for good prices.

Air BnBs are banned!

As of last year, New York City has a ban on short term rentals. You might see entire apartment/house rentals available on Airbnb or other sites in NYC. You might be able to book them. BUT this is illegal, so there’s a good chance the renter will cancel the booking at a later date. We wouldn’t risk it.

New Jersey is very close, just to the west of Manhattan. Renting an Airbnb there is a legal and affordable option. But please note that NJ is the opposite side of Manhattan to Brooklyn, where the wedding venue is so you'd have further to travel.

FINDING YOUR OWN ACCOMMODATION

If you’re looking for accommodation yourself, we’d recommend the following areas as good places to stay.

LOWER MANHATTAN

The East Village, Gramercy, & Flat Iron are all close to our apartment and have a lot going on.

Chelsea is chic and The West Village is the home for Carrie Bradshaw, Friends, and LGBTQ+ New York.

Tribeca and Soho give you the best chance of celeb spotting.

BROOKLYN

Williamsburg is a great Brooklyn location with loads to do and see and easy access to Manhattan. This is the area we’d recommend that’s closest to our venue.

Greenpoint

A quieter Williamsburg. Not as good subway connections, but a lovely area on the water with tons of bars and restaurants.

MIDTOWN

It's not the nicest part of Manhattan but it has a lot of hotel options and it's easy to get to pretty much anywhere from there.

QUEENS

Long Island City is just across the bridge from Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It has some good affordable accommodation and is a good location for our venue.
