If you are thinking of extending your visit to see more of New York outside of the city, we recommend two options:
1. Long Island - Rent a car and drive to Long Island. The Northfork is wineries and great restaurants (our favorite town is Greenport). The Southfork is the Hamptons ($$$ but great beaches. Justin Timberlake got his DUI here and that's everything you need to know about the Hamptons).
2. Upstate - You can take the Train to Beacon or Hudson (both great little towns with shopping, hikes, and restaurants) or rent a car and go further upstate for even more scenery around the Catskills.
Ask us for more details if you're thinking of doing any of these things!
